Paul Bogart (1919 - 2012)

Emmy Award-winning producer and director Paul Bogart has passed away at the age of 92. He was a prolific director of episodic television and MOWs: All In the Family, The Golden Girls, CBS Playhouse, Get Smart, The Defenders, and many others, in a career that spanned five decades.


He also directed a handful of theatrical features, including two James Garner vehicles (Marlowe; Skin Game); Mr. Ricco (Dean Martin's final starring role); Class of 44 (the sequel to the popular Summer of 42); the screen adaptation of Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song Trilogy; Oh, God! You Devil (the final instalment of the popular George Burns series of comedies), and the 1970 campus drama Halls of Anger, in which Jeff Bridges made his acting debut. (The two would re-team a year later for the TV-movie In Search of America).
