Susan bought me Burton Cumming's new album, Above the Ground for Christmas. Finally had a chance to hear it today-- my favourite track is "Look Out Charlie, There's A Bartender In Town", recalling Burton Lorne Cummings' more soulful and introspective side as heard previously in songs like "Sour Suite" and "Glamour Boy".
This ballad encapsulates his thoughts on 9/11, The Gulf War and so on, and now thanks to YouTube, one could crown this as an early anthem for the Obama generation. Someone has edited still of Barack Obama's campaign to this song with lovely results. This may seem like an easy accomplishment, but the marriage really works. Enjoy.
